| Description | From the end of the 19th century onwards, an increasing number of committees were introduced at Quarterly and Monthly Meeting level. Many of these were created on an adhoc basis to fulfil a specific task and were stood down once there was no longer any need for the committee's work e.g. Enlistment Committee, Housing Committee, Spanish Relief Committee, Refugees and Aliens Committee (see SF/2/1/1/4). However, some standing committees were also introduced such as the Nominations and Arrangements Committee and the Extension Committee (see SF/1/3/1-2).
