DescriptionFriends Hall Gooch Street Trust was established by Friends in 1895 to purchase property in Gooch Street which was to be used for schools for adults and children, religious, education and philanthropic purposes, social clubs and a community centre. The property was closed in 1972 and the building was subsequently sold. Proceeds from the sale were invested and the income distributed for religious, education and philanthropic purposes in Birmingham and the surrounding area. Friends Hall Gooch Street Recreation Ground Trust provides recreational facitilities in Stirchley, in particular a cricket ground. Friends Hall Farm Street Trust gives grants to organisations and individuals within a 35 mile radius of Birmingham and known to trustees or recommended by the Society of Friends.
