DescriptionIn 1899 George Cadbury conveyed Selly Oak and Northfield Friends Halls to trustees so that it could be used not only by Friends, but also the wider community, for meetings for social, religious, educational and other charitable purposes, including home mission work, schools for children and adults, and clubs. In 1901, Cotteridge Friends Hall was added to the trust, followed by Raddlebarn Lane Friends Hall, Selly Oak in 1903, and the trust became known as the West Birmingham Friends Halls Trust. Other properties managed by the trust were Barnt Green, Bournville, Stirchley, Selly Oak, Northfield, Longbridge and Cotteridge meeting houses; Station Road Hall, Northfield; land at Dogpool; Selly Oak Nursery School. From 1950, the trust was dissolved and the properties were conveyed to Warwickshire Monthly Meeting Trust. Since then a number have been sold.
