| Description | From 1941, conferences were arranged for young Friends from Quaker meetings across the Midlands. These included the meetings in Birmingham and its suburbs, Coventry, Rugby, Leamington, Derby, Stoke on Trent, Nottingham, Peterborough, Leicester, Redditch, Sutton Coldfield, Ettington, Hartshill, Shipston, Stratford, Worcester, Evesham, Banbury and Northampton. The conferences took place at different locations around the area. Subjects discussed at the conferences included 'the place of young Friends in the [Religious] Society [of Friends]', 'Our Responsibility to the Community', 'Peace or Armistice?', 'The Practicality of Christianity', 'The Effect of War Conditions on our Faith and Thought', 'Worship and Work', That of God in Everyman', 'Social Problems and the Christian Approach to them', 'The Inner Light' and so on. |
