| Description | These relate to Junior Yearly Meeting, school leavers' books, 'the split' and mini gatherings. They also include spare copies of Religious Education committee minutes and annual reports.
'The split' relates to a division of the group for young Quakers known as 'Junior Young Friends' into two groups in June 1979. This was because older members of Junior Young Friends wanted take greater responsibility for running their own gatherings and incorporate wider discussion and activity than was possible in a group of 11-19 year olds. After consultation via questionnaire, it was decided that 15-19 year olds would form a group known as Young Quakers and 11-15 year olds would form a group known as Junior Young Friends and would remain under the responsibility of adult Friends. |
