| Description | These list the certificates which were sent outwards to other Monthly Meetings by Warwickshire Monthly Meeting and those which were received inwards from other meetings to Warwickshire Monthly Meetings. Volumes from SF/2/1/1/8/2/2 onwards are in a standard printed format, with one end of the volume containing entries for certificates sent/outwards and the other end for certificates received/inwards.
For entries of certificates sent, the following information is recorded:
name of the Friend for whom the certificate is for, place the Friend removed to (generally the Friend's home address with the new Monthly Meeting added retrospectively), the name of Friends appointed to prepare the certificate, when and where it was signed, and when receipt of it from the new Monthly Meeting was acknowledged.
For entries of certificates received, the following information is recorded:
name of the Friend (sometimes including his/her home address), which Monthly Meeting he/she was from, when the certificate was received, which Friends were nominated to visit the individual's former Monthly Meeting, when the certificate was acknowledged and the visit reported.
The certificates received from other meetings for Friends joining Warwickshire Monthly Meeting were bound separately from these registers and are contained in SF/2/1/1/29/7-11, covering the dates 1677 - 1820. |
