DescriptionThe admission records of the Sunday School generally comprise large black registers. Information contained in the registers includes names and addresses of pupils; date of admission; previous Day or Sunday Schools attended, with length of time spent at each; information on why they left last school; general statements of intellectual attainments on entering new school; occupation and wages (where appropriate), name of employer and duration of employment; the class they were put into on entering, with dates; periodical reports of their teachers; the dates they left school (with age and reasons); and information gained concerning the pupil after they had left the school. There are comments on the behaviour and attendance of some children as well as comments on the occasional pupil who left a trade to become a teacher.
