| Description | Bound, printed volume with brown paper covers bearing handwritten title. The book belonged to Hugh Warnock of Rushall and Walsall, and a card attached to the page reads: 'Presented with great pleasure to the Ministers' Meeting in memory of Hugh Warnock. (from his Library) July 1951'. The volume provides detailed lists and information about the various Unitarian churches, affiliated institutions, and local and regional societies and groups that constituted the Midland Christian Union, and is a good source of information on the structure and functions of these institutions, and the individuals involved (for example, there are chronological lists of the Ministers of each church). There is also some loose correspondence and related papers enclosed in the volume and facsimile signatures of the Ministers of various Nonconformist churches in Birmingham, including George Dawson (Church of the Saviour) and the Dr. Joseph Priestley and the Henry William Crosskey (New Meeting House, later Church of the Messiah). |
