| Description | A note in the front of the volume states that the papers were added and bound inside the volume in March 1932, shortly after being donated to Birmingham Reference Library in June 1931. The manuscripts contain an interesting account of his early life, travels, and literary and other personal interests, as well as some information about the church during the first part of the nineteenth century. The contents include a copy of his apprenticeship indenture, dated 24 June 1777; a short account of a journey through Wales during 1822; manuscript verse written by Edward Corn; copies of notices pasted into the volume relating to seat rentals and Meetings of the Subscribers of the New Meeting church, dated 2 June 1802 - 2 July 1803; details of votes taken for the election of a minister to succeed Dr Toulmin, dated 10 March 1816. |
