| Description | Photographed between 08.45 and 08.50 hours, 24 July 1959. The photograph appears to have been mounted for exhibition on boards decorated with the names of the streets depicted in the photograph. This photograph shows the tail end of vehicles parking on the corner of Digbeth and St Martins Lane entering the market area. At the same time vehicles can be seen wanting to leave St Martins Lane and cross the main traffic stream of Digbeth, towards Park Street. The car park on the corner of Park Street, Digbeth and Moor Street was closed when the photograph was taken. Edgbaston Street was less congested during this part of the day when compared to photographs taken earlier in the day (see WK/D1/177). |
