| Description | Hospital Centre Competition. Accompanying text to illustration on front of mount on WK/E1/430. Text reads: 'Birmingham Hospitals Centre Competition: the Winning Design. Figure none. The general layout of the nurses' home block and the administrative block, showing the relative positions of all the sections, the interworking of which is discussed, in the article continued from our last issue on the facing page, from the point of view of circulatory systems. The winning competitors, recognizing the prime importance of easy circulation, have indicated the various flows by arrows on several of their drawings. This particular figure illustrates the first circulation - that which brings into the hospital all persons and materials concerned in its functions. A second car park is provided to the east, corresponding with the westerly one here named. The kitchen (in the basement) is situated between the adminstration block and the chapel'.
