The Midland Industrial Association (MIA) is a voluntary agency established in 1982 using workspace provided by the Birmingham City Council to encourage employment through small firms. The Action Resource Centre (ARC) established the Chelmsley Wood Training Centre to provide training in vehicle repair and maintenance under the direction of a seconded police officer and four instructors. Nature of support: In 1984 the Trust approved two annual grants of £1,000 to MIA. That same year the Trust offered the ARC up to £500 for equipment costs.
