Applicant overview: The UU was created as the non-charitable arm of Youthaid to cater to the unemployment needs of young people and adults through education and advocacy. A major activity of the UU is to assess the impact of government changes in monitoring unemployment statistics. Nature of support: In 1987 the Fund made a single grant of £7,500 to UU pending a further decision on long-term support. In 1988 the Fund approved three annual grants of £10,000 for UU activities.
