Applicant overview: The Summerfield Foundation was established following a study published in 1986 and became a private limited company in 1988. The Foundation aims to promote any charitable purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of Rotton Park and Winson Green with particular reference to the advancement of education and relief of poverty, sickness, old age and distress without distinction to race or sex. The Foundation also seeks to create a credit union that hopes to provide low-income families with an affordable alternative to the usury of local moneylenders.
