Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The CRC was established in 1987 with the support of the Trust as a one-year pilot project. The objective of the project was to carry out training, advice and support work aimed at maximising the employment potential of small, start up clothing businesses, particularly among women and ethnic minorities from the Inner City areas of the West Midlands County. Nature of support: The Trust agreed to meet the costs of the pilot project, totalling £19,659 over twelve months. Further extensions of the project led to continued interest by the Trust. In 1988 a grant of £8,000 was made for a further six months of work. A further eighteen-month extension was approved later that year, bringing the total Trust commitment to £20,000 for 1989/1990 and £10,000 for 1990/1991.
