Applicant overview: The CRA was established in 1983 as a consequence of the dissatisfaction felt by many radio enthusiasts and community groups with existing radio provisions. The CRA is the main voluntary sector participant in government consultation sessions on community radio. CRA advocates the legalisation of community radio to widen democratic communication and to increase employment opportunities. Nature of support: In 1988 the Trust approved three annual grants of £13,500 for administrative expenses. Minutes: B&GSCT 6930.
