Applicant overview: Counteract was established in 1988 with the aims of, 1) offering a point of contact, advice and support to individuals and groups both in the community and in employment, who feel that they are the victims of sectarian intimidation, 2) studying the occurrence of intimidation and draw out any apparent themes, patterns and policy implications, and 3) liaising with relevant trade unions, trades councils, statutory and community organisations who are concerned with the alleviation of the effects of intimidation.
