Applicant overview: The BDDG is a body of local people voluntarily striving to halt the social and economic degeneration of the local community. The Group was formed in 1986 with a primary aim of tackling unemployment. Nature of support: In 1989 the Trust approved a grant of £5,000 to BDDG on the advice of Paul S. Cadbury Trustees. That same year a three-year grant was approved for the employment of a female environmental and tourist development worker. In 1992 a further grant of £5,500 was made to BDDG. In 1993 outstanding payments to BDDG were paid by the Paul S. Cadbury Trust. That same year the Fund agreed to a £10,000 grant to the Belcoo and District Historical Society.
