Applicant overview: The RSC provides specialist counselling and psychotherapy service for refugees and asylum seekers; and promotes awareness of psychological needs. RSC aims to, 1) provide an accessible, responsive and effective counselling and psychotherapy service, 2) increase understanding of the mental health needs of refugees and asylum seekers, 3) support refugee groups and voluntary organisations, 4) work in accordance with equal opportunities policy, and 5) conduct six-month reviews to check against aims and targets. The Centre became a registered charity in 1990. Nature of support: In 1994 the Trust agreed to a grant of £33,500 to be paid over two years. In 1996 a further year of support was approved at £19,000.
