Applicant overview: The SSCA was established in 1996 by a group of refugees from southern Sudan who wished to structure and develop the comprehensive programme of help and support that was needed by their compatriots arriving in the UK. SSCA is based in London and provides advice, information and advocacy in the areas of welfare rights, immigration, asylum seeking, housing, education, training and employment, health care including HIV/AIDS and supplementary schooling in mother tongue and English for speakers of other languages.
