Applicant overview: BWRAP is an unincorporated voluntary organisation established to, 1) provide counselling, advice and support services to black, immigrant and refugee women and girls from different ethnic backgrounds who have faced rape, sexual assault, domestic violence, and are facing deportation when they leave violent marriages, sexual harassment, racist sexual assault or rape and sexual abuse from people in authority, and 2) raise awareness around the rape of black women and girls from different ethnic backgrounds, and, 3) document their experiences and outcomes. BWRAP was set up in 1993 in London. Nature of support: In 2000 the Trust approved grants totalling £81,000 to be paid over three years to BWRAP for salaries and associated costs.
