It was formed in 1988 at a Merseyside Association of Worker Writers Event, by a group of day centre users who had the common goal of accessing and becoming involved in more community services. The primary aim of Ideas in Motion is to remove barriers put in the way of disabled people which keep them out of the community. MOWL aims to promote the advancement of education, training and rehabilitation of persons who have learning difficulties. Particularly, MOWL seeks to work with disabled adults who have been denied a formal basic education. MOWL became a registered charity in 2003 and is also a registered company. Nature of support: In 1999 the Trust approved three annual grants of £10,000 towards access to education projects. A single grant was also approved of £5,000 towards the purchase of computers. In 2000 Ideas in Motion was granted an annual payment increase of £10,000 for 2001/2002 plus three further years of support at £20,000. Minutes: BCT 814, BCT 953, DP 7/99, DP1/00, DP 4/00.
