Applicant overview: Community Links is an extensive network of projects run by local people tackling practically and creatively the problems of inner city communities in the most deprived areas of the United Kingdom. Within this network Community Links has pioneered new ideas and new ways of working and has developed projects, which have been acclaimed as the best in the field. This good practice is shared nationally through publications and training activities. Community Links was established in 1977. Nature of support: In 1992 the Paul S. Cadbury Trust approved a single grant of £10,000 towards the costs of converting the Canning Town Public Hall into a community resource centre. In 1994 an additional grant of £10,000 was approved to the project. In 1995 a further grant of £10,000 was approved by the Barrow Cadbury Trust. This was subsequently rescinded.
