Applicant overview: Seva Sadan was established to, 1) provide a Christian service rooted in respect and mutual friendship, to the people of the Asian community, especially women, in the Sparkhill area of Birmingham, 2) engage, with support where necessary, in educational, social and family issues as these affect the local community, 3) be a place of welcome and safety for meeting people of differing faith commitments, and 4) provide a resource for the training of ministerial students, community workers etc. Nature of support: In 1996 the Trust approved a grant of £5,000 for three years on the advice of Community Democracy/Community Organising Relevant Trustees.
