PressWise offers free, professional advice and support to those on the receiving end of inaccurate intrusion, unfair or irresponsible journalism. PressWise is a not-for-profit, limited liability company. PressWise became a registered charity in 1999. The Undercurrents Foundation was established in 1993 as a company limited by guarantee and became a registered charity in 1995. The Foundation aims to, 1) advance education and training, in particular in the arts of film and video, 2) promote, maintain, improve and advance education for the benefit of the public, particularly dramatic education and to encourage and foster public interests in the arts, including the art of film and video, and, 3) advance the education of the public in the environment and in health issues, through the art of film and video and to formulate, prepare and establish schemes therefore provided that all objects of the company shall be of a charitable nature. Nature of support: In 1996 the Trust approved a single grant of £18,000 to Undercurrents to be spread over two years. In 1998 a further £20,000 was approved to Undercurrents to be spread over two years as needed. This grant was transferred to PressWise in 2000.
