Applicant overview: The Society was established by Edward Rudolf in 1881 as the Church of England Central Society for Providing Homes for Waifs and Strays. The title was later changed to the Church of England Children's Society and finally The Children's Society. The Society aims to, 1) directly improve the lives of children and young people for whom it provides services, and 2) create a positive shift in social attitudes to improve the situation facing all children and young people. The Right Track project aims to address injustice of the over-representation of young black people in the youth justice system.
