PBI sends small unarmed 'peace teams' invited into areas of violent repression or conflict. Teams accompany union leaders, human rights and peasant organisations. This non-violent escort service is supported by an Emergency Response Network (ERN) which works closely with Amnesty International to ensure that world opinion is alerted whenever a kidnapping or assassination occurs.
