Applicant overview: The An Teach Ban North West Community Residential Project was established in 1989 to, 1) promote, develop and manage a centre as a regional resource for those within the community, voluntary, trade union, private and statutory sectors, 2) provide opportunities for personal and group development for the local community, 3) maximise the use of the Centre by organising and delivering a programme of leisure activities designed to meet the leisure needs of individuals and special interest groups, and, 4) realise the potential of An Teach Ban as a vehicle by which the cross-border and reconciliation process can be stimulated and encouraged. The An Teach Ban Centre is located in the village of Downings on the Rossgoill Peninsula of Northern Ireland.
