The End Conscription Campaign (ECC) is a South African based organisation that aims to end the mandatory conscription policies of the Apartheid government. The Mandela Scholarship Fund (MSF) was set up by the University of Sussex to provide support for South African students to study at UK universities. A number of other applications are also included. Nature of support: In 1984 the Trust approved a grant of £10,000 to cover conference costs of the University of Kent's Centre for the Analysis of Conflict. That same year the Trust agreed in principal to meet the costs of Winnie Mandela's visits to Nelson Mandela on Robben Island for two years at a total commitment of £5,500 to be paid through the Lincoln Trust. In 1985 the Trust approved a grant of £500 towards a specific request for support through the MSF. In 1985 a £2,500 towards the ECC was approved.
