Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust, Barrow Cadbury Fund Ltd. Applicant overview: A number of applications were received for grant support. Applicants include the Peace Advertising Campaign (PAC), the International Year of Peace, the International Peace Research Association (IPRA), Critical Mass, the World Disarmament Campaign (WDC), Bread not Bombs, Play for Life, the Budapest Seminar on European nuclear disarmament, Mothers for Peace as well as a number of personal applications to the Fund. Nature of support: In 1986 the Trust approved a grant of £1,000 to allow Third World participation in the IPRA conference in Brighton. That same year the Trust made a grant of £2,000 to a Critical Mass theatrical production of 'The Day the Sheep Turned Pink' relating to the dangers of nuclear energy. A two-year grant of £4,000 and £1,500 per annum respectively was approved to the WDC letter writing campaign in 1986. Play for Life also received a grant of £500. In 1987 the Budapest Seminary on European Nuclear Disarmament received a grant of £1,500. That same year Mother for Peace received a grant of £250. Grants to PAC and International Year of Peace were declined.
