Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The ADC was set-up in June 1980 to examine alternatives to Britain's Cold War military policies. The Commission includes academics, scientists, MPs, trade unionists and religious leaders. The ADC is based at the Department of Peace Studies, Bradford University. Michael Randle is a Research Fellow at Bradford University and a member of the ADC. His research focuses on defence without recourse to nuclear weapons. Nature of support: In 1987 the Trust approved two annual grants of £9,500 towards the research fellowship of Michael Randle. That same year the Trust allocated £5,000 per annum to the ADC for two years. A single travel grant of £1,100 was also provided as well as a £3,900 towards conference costs.
