Applicant overview: EfP was formed in November 1982 from a group of peace minded electronic engineers who link the escalation of arms production and the increasing technical complexity of arms production with the work of their profession. EfP aims to 1) link and support electronic engineers who share a concern for the military implications of their profession, 2) co-ordinate action by electronic engineers to de-escalate the involvement of the industry in arms manufacture, research and development, 3) provide technical information, where appropriate, to those working in the field of nuclear and conventional armament, 4) promote an awareness of the electronic/arms link and its implications among the general public, 5) encourage the development of plans for converting industry from military to civilian production, and 6) encourage the development of positive, socially appropriate applications of electronics.
