It works to secure justice for minority groups who are suffering discrimination and the peaceful co-existence of the majority and minority communities. MRG publishes and widely distributes research on minorities worldwide, practices direct advocacy on behalf of minority rights in international fora, such as the UN and collaborates on education and information projects in local communities. MRG became a registered charity in 1965 and began its publication activities in 1970. Nature of support: In 1987 the Trust agreed to offer three annual grants of £5,000, £4,000 and £3,000 respectively towards research into ethnicity and constitutional and political frameworks.
