| Description | Grant file containing correspondence, file sheet, reports, CD, financial papers, general information and due diligence form, grant terms and conditions, agendas and project proposal relating to Refugee Youth (RY). Funding source(s): Barrow Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: RY is an expanding London-based network of young adults representing a wide range of nationalities attending workshops and events. The group was established in 1995 in memory of refugee advocate Barbara Melunsky. RY works specifically with young adults of 16 to 30 years and the vast majority of beneficiaries are 17 to 22 years old. It tries to create a family atmosphere for young refugees who may feel alone in the UK, by, for example, cooking meals together in the centre. Nature of support: In 2008 the Trust approved a grant of £9,800 for the development and dissemination of a national report based on the 'Becoming a Londoner' project. Minutes: No minutes cited. Notes: File organised by subject. File not numbered. |
