Applicant overview: The Habits of Solidarity (HoS) network was created from organisations funded under a call for projects by the Barrow Cadbury Trust in July 2008, through the HoS funding initiative. The HoS programme was created to support grassroots community projects across England, building cohesion and addressing poverty in diverse urban communities in innovative and practical ways. Aims for the programme include supporting best practice at a community level and gathering intelligence from organisations working on grassroots issues. In addition, since 2008 the Barrow Cadbury Trust has created regular opportunities for groups funded under the HoS programme to come together to share expertise and to interact with policymakers and practitioners working on issues of cohesion, diversity and poverty. Nature of support: Applicants include the Milton Keynes Equality Council for the Milton Keynes Common Grounds Network (£30,000), Community Voice FM Ltd.'s Women's Voices project (£28,800), The Hidden Gardens Trust Connecting People Project (£30,000), the Tutu Foundation UK's Transformative Mediation Project (£30,550), JUST West Yorkshire's Myth Busters project (£29,900), the Community Resource Information Service (CRIS) Sustaining Habits of Solidarity in Northfield (£29,630), Leicester North West Community Forum (LNWCF) Solidarity, Togetherness and Alchemy in Beaumont Leys Estate project (£29,950), Working Actively to Change Hillfields Ltd. for community development services, Harmony House's Meet the Neighbours Project (£30,000), the Rochdale Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations' Lower Falinge Unite Project (£29,000), Together for Peace and The Salvation Army community mobilisation movement (£31,700), The Lowry Centre Trust's Eccles Community Film Project (£25,000), the Camcorder Guerrilla Collective's Giving Voice to the Voiceless: Habits of Solidarity documentary (£29,316), Heeley City Farm's Sheffield Diversity, Solidarity and Sharing Through Food project (£30,290) and Diversity Hub Pulling Together Project (£30,000).
