The project is a joint venture between Midland Area Improvement Housing Association Ltd. and WELD Community Arts and Education Project. Plus One aims to help those young mothers, who, with a period of support, can be helped to cope better. The project aims to combine decent living conditions with a friendly, supportive atmosphere. This will provide the mothers with a breathing space in which they can adjust to independent living and developing budgeting and domestic skills. The project is based in a specially converted property in Heathfield Road, Handsworth. Nature of support: The Trust approved a grant of up to £3,000 to meet the short-term costs of the project.
