Applicant overview: NACAB aims to 1) provide the advice people need for the problems they face and, 2) improve the policies and practices that affect people's lives. In addition to these aims NACAB is committed to race relations in its work by reaching out to black clientele, appointing black staff and working out policies with local offices for dealing with racist clients and applying equal opportunities principles. Nature of support: In 1987 the Trust approved two annual grants of £10,000 towards two NACAB staff positions working in race relations. Due to a breakdown in communication the grant was not renewed.
