Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The NTF was established in 1987 in collaboration with the Birmingham Citizens Advice Bureau to relieve poverty in Birmingham by the provision of grants to individuals in need who have the right to, and wish to apply, for British citizenship on their behalf or, on the behalf of close dependents. This was in response to changes in Home Office regulations governing citizenship for permanent residents from Commonwealth countries, the Republic of Ireland and women married to British citizens. The Nationality Deadline Campaign (NDC), Coventry was formed for a similar purpose. Nature of support: In 1987 the Trust made a single grant of £350 to the NDC. That same year a grant of £1,000 was made to NTF. Minutes: B&GSCT 6738, B&GSCT 6826. Notes: File organised by date from newest to oldest. File numbered '3/27/2A'. |
