Applicant overview: The Birmingham branch of NAME was established with the aim of playing an active role in making the changes required in the education system which fill further involve the development of a just, multi-racial society. Nature of support: In 1983 the Trust approved a grant of £300 towards the cost of a NAME trip to Belfast led by the organiser of Birmingham NAME. A further £200 was later added to this total. In 1985 the Trust made a single grant of £500 for a follow-up video relating to the trip. In 1986 the Trust approved a grant of £250 plus a further £450 guarantee against loss for a National Anti-Racist Movement in Education conference in Birmingham jointly organised by Birmingham NAME and All Faiths for One Race (AFFOR).
