Applicant overview: The SBCFC was opened on 08 September 1979 by George Park, MP, as a multi-purpose community resource in the Red Lane area of Foleshill, Coventry, an inner-city zone recently assigned as a Planning Action Area. The Centre operates a playgroup, junior youth club, senior youth club, summer play scheme, women’s group, pensioner’s lunch and community lunch among other projects. The area served by the Centre has a large black and Asian community. Nature of support: In 1984 the Trust offered a single grant of £960 towards the establishment of the project.
