Applicant overview: This file contains a number of housing related grant applications from a number of sources including the HLC. Others include Coutts House, Sparkhill, a girls hostel, housing groups based at the Lozells Social Development Centre, the Handsworth Single Homeless Action Group (HSHAG), Trinity Housing Advice Centre (THAC) and the Housing Dis-Repair Service (an HLC project). Nature of support: THAC was allocated a grant of £1,000 plus a further £1,000 if funds could not be found from other sources. In 1978 the Trust approved a recommendation of Southfield Trustees for a grant of £600 to Coutts Centre, Sparkhill for hostel furnishings and fittings. In 1979 a grant of £350 was paid complete a report on Winson Green Prison. Later that year a grant of £6,500 was made to HSHAG. A further grant of £2,000 was made to THAC. That same year £1,000 was allocated to Housing Dis-Repair Service. HSHAG received a bridging grant of up to £5,000 in 1980. In 1987 the Trust agreed to a loan guarantee of up to £10,000 to HLC.
