Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust, Barrow Cadbury Fund Ltd. Applicant overview: The PBC was established in 1989 following the election of four black MPs to Parliament in 1987. Three MPs, Bernie Grant, Keith Daz and Diane Abbot constituted the PBC. The PBC offers a forum in which black representatives can meet together to discuss issues of common concern. The PBC approached the Fund for administrative support for their work in 1987 and applied formally in 1988. Nature of support: In 1988 the Fund an initial grant of £17,500 for 1988/1989 followed by three annual grants of £16,500. The grant was not renewed. Minutes: B&SGCT 6855, BCF 2979, BCF 3042, 3164.
