Applicant overview: The SMO aims to 1) promote, represent and safeguard the Ideology of Islam, 2) advance the education of the membership concerning good citizenship in a multi-racial and multi-cultural society, 3) provide facilities for the educational, recreational, social and cultural needs of the Muslim Community, in particular the Muslim youth and children, 4) help the Muslim Community in the Borough of Sandwell, to protect their cultural and religious identity, and to strengthen the bond of Brotherhood amongst Muslims and Non-Muslims, 5) act as a Resource Agency providing advice, information and support to the Muslim Community, 6) arrange social and religious meeting to enable the Muslim Community to overcome their problems by establishing self-help activities, and 7) foster goodwill and harmonious relationships with the statutory and non-statutory bodies in the Borough of Sandwell.
