It soon grew into an all-party national body whose aim is to seek the equal representation of women in Parliament and on all political forums and to assist, encourage and train women to seek and hold public office in the United Kingdom and elsewhere. Primary aims include, 1) a minimum of 300 women in the House of Commons, 2) increasing the number of women in the House of Lords, 3) encouraging women to participate in public decision-making processes at all levels, 4) increasing public awareness of the need for greater participation by women, 5) publicising the activities of women in politics, and 6) promote and raise the profiles of women.
