SAFSS was established in 1986 and became a registered charity in 1989. Nature of support: In 1991 the Trust approved three annual grants of £10,000 per annum to SAFSS. This was subsequently increased by £500 per annum. In 1993 three further grants of £15,000 per annum were approved to enable a welfare rights worker post to become permanent.
