The organisation was created in March 1976 with the aim of operating the 24-hour telephone counselling service and to undertake research on the subject of rape and sexual assault. RCRP is staffed by predominantly unpaid female staff. Nature of support: On Southfield Trust advice the Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust provided £7,000 to setup the project with subsequent annual grants of £13,500 from November 1978. This figure represents roughly 40% of RCRP budget.
