DescriptionGrant file containing correspondence, minutes, annual reports, funding requests, agendas and reports relating to Care of Victims (COV), Coventry. Funding source(s): Paul S. Cadbury Trust, Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust, Southfield Trust. Applicant overview: COV began work in Coventry in 1976. COV is a registered charity. Their aim is to provide trained volunteers to advise victims of crime in matters relating to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, the Social Service Department and the Department of Health and Social Security as well as on legal and security matters. After overcoming initial difficulties COV expanded its work from one police division to the entire city with additional links to the West Midlands Police Force. Nature of support: COV's activities drew the interest of the Paul S. Cadbury Trust and the Southfield Trust. The Paul S. Cadbury Trust approved two annual grants from 1978 for up to £1,000 per annum. It appears some additional support was provided by the Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust though this may be referring to grants made by the Paul S. Cadbury Trust. Minutes: B&GSCT 5110, PSCT 125, ST 7/78. Notes: File organised by date from newest to oldest. File labelled '5/1/3'.
