Date1996 - 2001
DescriptionGrant file containing correspondence, minutes, agendas, grant overviews: leaflets, annual reviews, invitation, card game, project proposal and funding requests relating to the Dawn Project launched by the Diocese of Sheffield. Funding source(s): Barrow Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The Dawn Project is a charity funded initiative aiming to provide short courses in the South Yorkshire area to those recovering from the end of a close relationship. The courses are a chance to share experiences in a safe setting, with people who have been through the same problems. Courses are run by trained counsellors of facilitators, who guarantee confidentiality. They look at practical ways to learn from the past and build a new future and are not afraid to tackle the pain, guilt and loneliness felt in separation and divorce. Courses are open to anyone. Nature of support: In 1996 the Trust approved three annual grants of £10,000 to the Project if matching funds could be found. Two further grants were approved for 1999/2000 and 2000/2001 at £20,000 per annum. Minutes: BCT 280, BCT 666. Notes: File organised from newest to oldest. File not numbered.
