Funding source(s): Barrow Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: Young Disciples is a Birmingham social exclusion project set up for young people and run by young people. The project works with hard to reach young people predominately between the ages of 15 and 25. The project also works with younger age groups from 7 years upwards during school holidays. Young Disciples offers a unique development programme that challenges all issues that young people face using a holistic approach considering drugs, gangs, abuse and the situation confronting ex-offenders. Nature of support: In 2007 the Trust made a grant of £148,900 over three years for the salary of the Director of Young Disciples plus administrative costs and presentation and evaluation support.
