Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The WMPR was established in 1985 as a result of research by members of the Probation Service and the Crypt Association Ltd. into the need to medication and reparation services in Wolverhampton. The project has the following objectives, 1) to effect some degree of repair to the relations between the parties and also to facilitate reparation by the offender directed towards the victim of the crime involved, 2) to provide the sentencing Court with additional information at the time of sentence, in particular the effects of crime upon the victim and to what extent the offender has agreed to make amends, and 3) to attempt to persuade offenders to alter their ways, by illustrating the effect the crime has had upon the victim.
